Jalapeno Poppers

Jalapeno poppers feature fresh jalapeño peppers halved and seeded, then filled with a mixture of softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and fresh chives. They are topped with a buttery panko breadcrumb blend and baked until golden and crisp. The combination delivers creamy, spicy, and crunchy textures in a finger-food format.

Description

This Jalapeno Poppers recipe begins by halving fresh jalapeños and removing their seeds and membranes to moderate the heat level. The filling blends softened cream cheese with shredded sharp cheddar, garlic powder, and chopped fresh chives for a flavorful, creamy interior. The stuffed peppers are then topped with a mixture of panko breadcrumbs and melted butter to create a crispy, golden topping.

The poppers bake in a hot oven until the jalapeños soften slightly and the breadcrumb crust turns crunchy and browned. After baking, a brief cooling period allows the filling to set for easier handling and serving. These poppers make a savory appetizer with a balance of mild heat and rich cheese flavors complemented by the crunchy topping.
