Jamaican Jerk Seasoning Recipe

This boldly flavorful and fiery homemade Jamaican jerk seasoning will bring the flavors of Caribbean straight to your kitchen!

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tablespoons onion powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoons dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons allspice
- 1-2 teaspoons Scotch bonnet pepper powder , can substitute cayenne pepper (optional: in addition 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes)
- 2 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons Kosher or sea salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a bowl or jar and stir or shake until thoroughly combined. Store in a glass jar in a dark, cool place. It will keep for several months but for optimal flavor use within 2 months. Makes about 1/2 cup Jamaican jerk seasoning.
