Jarlsberg Cheese Dip
Description
This dip starts by mixing freshly grated Jarlsberg cheese with mayonnaise and a bit of milk to achieve a spreadable consistency. Finely diced red onion adds a mild pungency and texture, while fresh parsley contributes herbal brightness. Lemon juice gives a hint of acidity to balance the richness, and kosher salt and black pepper season to taste.
The mixture is chilled for at least two hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld and the texture to firm slightly. Before serving, it can be adjusted with additional seasoning if needed and topped with chopped fresh chives for a mild onion flavor and color contrast.
Ideal as a flavorful spread, this dip works well with crackers, pretzels, or chips and can be stored refrigerated for several days without losing quality.
