Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add ground turkey. Then using a box grated shred the yellow onion on top of the turkey.
  2. Add in dijon mustard, garlic cloves, fresh parsley, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Gently mix with hands and form 4 to 5 equal-sized patties
  4. Clean the grill and heat to medium-high, between 375°F to 400°F. Make sure to grease your grill by using spray or dipping paper towels in oil and spreading across the grill. Read notes below if using a grill pan inside on stovetop.
  5. Place turkey burgers on the heated grill, cover with the lid and cook for 5 minutes until grill marks appear. Carefully flip the burgers on the grill for another 5 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Assemble your burgers on a regular or lettuce bun with red onion, avocado, tomato, lettuce, or toppings of your choice. If you are keto, use a lettuce bun or keto bun.

Notes

  • I do not recommend using 99% lean ground turkey for this burger recipe.
  • Yellow Onion: You can substitute with a white onion.
  • Grill Pan (Indoors): Feel free to use a grill pan on the stovetop if needed. Heat it to medium-high, grease the pan, and follow the same cooking instructions.
  • Storing: For best results, store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat grilled turkey burgers in the air fryer for 3 – 5 minutes at 350°F or in the microwave for 45 – 90 seconds or until warm. You can also try the stovetop for 2 minutes on each side.
  • Freezing: Let grilled burgers cool to room temperature then store them in a freezer-safe bag in the freezer for up to 3 months.
