Description

Kielbasa Pasta combines sliced smoked kielbasa sausage with diced onions and minced garlic browned together to develop savory depth.   • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound smoked kielbasa sliced into 1/4 inch slices
  • 1/2 yellow onion finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 diced tomatoes 10 ounce can, canned
  • 16 oz rotini pasta uncooked
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large deep saucepan over medium high heat.  Add in the diced Kielbasa and onions for 5-6 minutes until the sausage is browned and onions are soft.
  2. Add in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until aromatic.
  3. Then stir in the diced tomatoes, pasta. milk and seasonings.  Slowly add in chicken broth until the pasta is covered (approximately 2 cups). Stir to combine.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer.  Let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is fully cooked.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Cover and let sit until the cheese is melted.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
  • Any favorite pasta shape can replace rotini without affecting flavor or cooking method.
