Kipper Recipe: Smoked Fish Sliders

This recipe uses canned King Oscar kipper snacks to create smoked fish sliders featuring a spicy yogurt sauce made with sriracha. The sliders are assembled with microgreens or leafy lettuce on slider buns. The flaked kipper fish lends smoky, tender flavor complemented by the creamy, slightly spicy sauce, resulting in a light and easy-to-make seafood slider suitable for casual gatherings or light meals.

Description

Kipper Recipe: Smoked Fish Sliders start by draining and flaking canned kipper fish, chosen here as King Oscar brand for convenience and flavor. A yogurt sauce combines plain whole milk yogurt with sriracha hot sauce, adjustable to desired heat level. This cooling sauce offsets the smoky fish's richness.

The sliders are assembled by dividing the flaked kipper among slider buns and topping with the prepared yogurt sauce and optional microgreens or leafy greens for a fresh contrast. Serving immediately or chilled maintains texture and prevents sogginess.

The recipe mentions multiplying quantities to serve more guests and includes a safety tip to keep sliders chilled in warm weather by placing serving trays over trays of ice. The leftover sauce can be repurposed as a condiment for other dishes like eggs or tacos.
