Korean Spicy Tofu
Description
Korean Spicy Tofu begins by pressing and cubing very firm tofu to remove moisture. The cubes are coated in soy sauce and cornstarch, which helps create a crisp exterior during baking or air frying at 400°F until golden and crunchy. Meanwhile, a sauce made with gochujang chili paste, soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, melted butter, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger is whisked together to provide a balance of heat, sweetness, acidity, and richness.
After baking, the tofu is combined in a skillet with the sauce and gently stirred to coat the pieces evenly, allowing the sauce to thicken and become sticky. The dish is finished with sesame seeds and diced green onions for texture and freshness.
The spicy tofu pairs well with steamed rice and traditional Korean side dishes like kimchi. Its combination of crispy texture and vibrant sauce makes it a satisfying meal for those who enjoy Korean flavors and tofu dishes.
