La Comedia Sweet Potato Souffle

La Comedia Sweet Potato Souffle is a baked casserole featuring a sweet potato base mixed with sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, salt, and vanilla, topped with a streusel of brown sugar, flour, butter, and chopped pecans. The dish offers a sweet, creamy filling with a crunchy nutty topping, making it a comforting side dish or dessert option.

Description

The Sweet Potato Souffle combines mashed sweet potatoes with sugar, eggs, milk, salt, melted butter, and vanilla to create a smooth, sweet, and rich filling. This mixture is poured into a baking dish buttered to prevent sticking. The topping is made by mixing brown sugar, all-purpose flour, melted butter, and pecans into a crumbly streusel topping that adds texture contrast and nutty flavor.

Baked uncovered at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes, the casserole develops a golden, crisp topping while the filling sets to a soft, creamy consistency. The contrast of the tender sweet potato base and crunchy pecan crust creates an appealing combination typical of holiday side dishes or special meals.

This dish fits well alongside turkey or ham and can also be served as a sweet side for family meals. No additional notes specify storage or reheating, so serving warm from the oven is implied.
