Lavender Latte (It's Vegan!)

This Lavender Latte is a warm coffee drink made with a strong brewed coffee base combined with almond milk frothed to a creamy foam. The sweetened lavender-infused simple syrup adds floral notes, and the milk foam is spooned on top, optionally garnished with edible flowers or a sprinkle of cinnamon for visual and flavor interest.

Description

The Lavender Latte uses a base of strong brewed coffee combined with almond milk (or soy milk as a substitute) that is gently warmed without boiling. The milk is frothed until it doubles in volume, creating a creamy foam that is added to the coffee, holding back the foam initially, then spooning it on top to create a layered effect. The lavender simple syrup sweetens the drink and imparts a subtle floral aroma and taste.

The latte offers a gentle balance of coffee bitterness, nutty almond milk creaminess, and the fragrant sweetness of lavender. Garnishing with a few edible flowers or a dusting of cinnamon enhances its presentation and sensory appeal. This vegan latte is suitable for those avoiding dairy but wanting a comforting and flavorful coffee-based drink.

The lavender-infused simple syrup is made by simmering food-grade dried lavender flowers in water, then dissolving sugar into the infused liquid once cooled and straining out the flowers. This syrup can be stored refrigerated for up to two weeks for convenient use in multiple drinks.
