Lavender Mint Lemonade

Lavender Mint Lemonade combines the floral notes of lavender syrup with fresh mint and tart lemon juice, delivering a refreshing and fragrant beverage. The lavender syrup is simmered gently to extract flavor before straining, while the final lemonade is balanced with water and adjusted to taste. Chilling with fresh mint leaves infuses the drink further, resulting in a cool, subtly floral lemonade perfect for warm days.

Description

Lavender Mint Lemonade begins with a homemade lavender syrup made by simmering sugar, water, and dried and fresh lavender to extract delicate floral flavors. After straining, the syrup is mixed with freshly squeezed lemon juice and water, creating a tart yet balanced base. Adding fresh mint leaves and refrigerating enhances the aroma and adds a refreshing herbal touch. The final drink is served chilled with garnishes like lemon slices and lavender sprigs, offering a light, fragrant twist on traditional lemonade. This beverage is ideal for leisurely occasions when you want something soothing and mildly sweetened.

Ingredients

Servings

lavender syrup

  • cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • teaspoons lavender dried, culinary
  • 2 lavender fresh sprigs

lemonade

  • 2.5 cups lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup Lavender syrup
  • 1 mint big handful, fresh
  • lemon slices for garnish
  • lavender fresh sprigs, for garnish

Instructions

lavender syrup

  1. Place the sugar, water and lavender in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk until the sugar dissolves, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 1 minute. Turn off the heat and set the saucepan aside. Let it cool completely. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the lavender. Store in a sealed container in the fridge! I like to make this a day or two before and even let the lavender sit in it in the fridge for a day before straining, but it’s not necessary.

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, water and simple syrup. Stir well. Taste and adjust the flavor to your like more – if it needs a little more sweetened, add it! More lemon juice or water? Go ahead. I love the ratio above, but it also depends on the sourness of your lemons. Throw a handful of fresh mint leaves into the pitcher and refrigerate for an hour before serving.
  2. To serve, pour into chilled glasses and garnish with a lemon slice, lavender sprig and mint leaf. Enjoy!
