Lazy Day Cinnamon Biscuits

Report
Lazy Day Cinnamon Biscuits are quick baked canned biscuits dipped in a cinnamon-sugar blend, then baked and finished with a simple powdered sugar glaze. This method adds cinnamon flavor and a sweet glaze to soft, fluffy biscuits with minimal preparation, ideal for a fast sweet snack or breakfast addition.

Description

This recipe starts by mixing sugar and cinnamon in a bowl to create a coating. Each biscuit is dipped into the mixture on one side, which will be the topping after baking. The biscuits are then arranged on a baking sheet with the sugared side up and baked according to package directions, until they turn lightly golden, developing a slightly crisp cinnamon-sugar crust.

While baking, a glaze is prepared by combining powdered sugar and milk to a desired consistency. After baking, biscuits are drizzled with this glaze to add a creamy and sweet finishing touch. The glaze softens slightly on the warm biscuits, creating contrasting textures of crust, soft biscuit, and smooth icing.

This recipe relies on store-bought canned biscuits, making it an accessible and speedy treat. The cinnamon coating and glaze add festive flavor with little effort, suitable for quick breakfasts, snacks, or dessert additions.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 canned biscuits 10 count (just the plain cheap ones!, in can
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl.
  2. Dip the top of each biscuit into the cinnamon/sugar mixtures and place them on a baking sheet with the cinnamon and sugar mixture side facing up.
  3. Bake the biscuits based on the package instructions. I baked mine at 400 degrees F for 8-11 minutes until the biscuits were slightly golden.
  4. While the biscuits are baking, stir the milk and powdered sugar together to make a glaze for the biscuits. You can add more milk or powdered sugar to get the consistency that you prefer.
  5. Once the biscuits are done, remove them from the oven, drizzle with the glaze and enjoy!
