Leftover Turkey Casserole
Description
This casserole starts by creating a creamy sauce from melted butter and flour, whisked with turkey gravy, milk, and shredded mozzarella cheese until smooth and thickened. In a baking dish, chunks of cornbread, chopped turkey, peas, carrots, and green beans are combined and coated with this rich sauce.
The casserole is baked covered to meld flavors and soften the cornbread and vegetables, then uncovered briefly to form a lightly browned top. The blend of textures comes from tender vegetables, savory turkey, and soft, moist cornbread, all bound by the cheesy sauce.
This casserole is excellent for using leftover turkey and vegetables, offering a practical, comforting way to enjoy remaining ingredients in a single baked dish.
