Lemon Asparagus with Rosemary and Garlic
Description
This recipe starts by melting salted butter in an ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Garlic is sautéed briefly to release its aroma, followed by adding fresh rosemary leaves and trimmed asparagus spears seasoned with salt and pepper. The asparagus cooks on the stovetop briefly to develop some initial flavor and tenderize slightly.
Next, the skillet transfers into a preheated oven to roast the asparagus until it reaches the desired tenderness, typically about 10 minutes, allowing the butter and rosemary to infuse further. Once roasted, the asparagus is plated and topped with freshly squeezed lemon juice, adding brightness and a mild tang that complements the herbaceous and buttery richness.
This side dish works well with a variety of main courses, pairing nicely with grilled meats, roasted poultry, or fish. Its combination of roasting and stovetop cooking delivers a flavorful, tender vegetable with lively citrus notes.
