Lemon Broccoli

Lemon Broccoli is a simple side dish featuring steamed broccoli florets tossed in a buttery lemon sauce. The broccoli is steamed until crisp-tender, retaining a fresh texture and bright green color. Tossing it with melted butter, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper adds a tangy, buttery flavor that complements the natural earthiness of the vegetable. This straightforward preparation highlights the broccoli's taste with a bright citrus note.

Description

Lemon Broccoli involves steaming bite-sized broccoli florets until just tender but still crisp. This gentle cooking preserves both color and texture. Meanwhile, a skillet melts unsalted butter and incorporates fresh lemon juice and zest, seasoning the mixture with salt and black pepper. The steamed broccoli is then added and tossed in the lemon butter to coat evenly.

The result is a side dish that balances the mild bitterness of broccoli with fresh lemon acidity and creamy butter richness. It pairs well alongside a variety of main dishes where a light green vegetable is desired. Serving it immediately preserves the vibrant texture and flavor.

Because the recipe is adapted from an established cookbook, nutritional information may vary depending on ingredient choices. The fresh lemon juice and zest provide authentic lemon flavor rather than artificial substitutes.
