Lemon Dill Salmon Recipe

Oven-baked Lemon Dill Salmon uses fresh lemon juice and dill to season tender salmon fillets. Cooking at 350°F results in flaky, medium-well salmon with a bright, herbal citrus flavor. The simple seasoning enhances the fish’s natural taste without overwhelming it.

Description

The Lemon Dill Salmon Recipe highlights the freshness of salmon combined with lemon and dill for a mild, flavorful dish. The fish—either a whole fillet or individual portions—is seasoned with fresh lemon juice, chopped dill, sea salt, and black pepper. Baking the salmon at 350°F until it flakes easily ensures a tender texture that's moist and delicate.

The lemon imparts a bright acidity that balances the richness of the salmon, while dill adds a subtle herbal note. The simplicity of the seasoning lets the quality of the fish shine.

This salmon pairs well with light side dishes such as steamed vegetables or a simple salad. It fits well into a range of meals from casual lunches to more refined dinners.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 24 ounces salmon , either a whole fillet or 4 individual fillets
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice fresh
  • 2 tablespoons dill coarsely chopped, fresh
  • sea salt fine
  • black pepper fine
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and coat 9x13 inch baking dish or rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray. Arrange the 24 ounces salmon (cut into smaller potions or as a large filet) in a single layer.
  2. Cover the salmon with the 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice. Season the salmon with the fine sea salt and pepper and 2 tablespoons fresh dill.
  3. If one whole filet, cook for 15 minutes. If individual fillets, cook for 8-10 minutes per inch of thickness. Salmon can be eaten medium-well done. If you have a particularly thick piece, the cooking time can be increased. Salmon should flake easily with a fork.
