Lemon, Garlic and Herb Prawns (Shrimp)

Report
This Lemon, Garlic and Herb Prawns dish sautés raw king prawns in olive oil with fresh lemon juice and zest, along with crushed garlic, then is finished with chopped fresh parsley. The result is tender prawns with a bright citrus aroma and garlicky warmth accented by fresh herbs, suitable for eating alone, as a salad topping, or in tacos.

Description

The recipe involves quickly cooking raw king prawns in olive oil with the juice and zest of lemon plus crushed garlic for 3-4 minutes until the prawns turn pink and are cooked through. The fresh parsley is then scattered on top before serving. This approach emphasizes keeping the cooking brief to preserve the prawns’ delicate texture while infusing citrus and garlic flavors.

The flavor profile is bright from the lemon’s acidity and zest, fragrant from garlic, and herbaceous with fresh parsley. The minimal seasoning lets the natural sweetness of the prawns remain central. The method is simple and requires little prep or cook time.

Serving options include eating the prawns directly from the bowl, layering them over a green salad, or assembling them in tacos accompanied by a homemade Mexican coleslaw. The recipe also suggests flexibility with herbs and the option of adding red chili flakes for heat. Using fresh prawns shortens cooking time to about one minute.
