Lemon Parmesan Green Beans
Description
This recipe involves blanching trimmed green beans in boiling salted water to preserve their vibrant color and crisp texture, then cooling rapidly in ice water to stop cooking. Separately, butter and garlic are cooked briefly in a skillet to create a fragrant base. The green beans are added back and sautéed until tender-crisp and browned slightly, adding depth.
Seasoned with salt, pepper, and a splash of fresh lemon juice, the green beans are finished with grated Parmesan and lemon zest, which add salty and citrus notes that brighten the dish. This combination yields a fresh, flavorful side that complements a variety of main courses.
Serve immediately to enjoy the crisp texture and bright flavors. The garlic butter base and lemon-Parmesan topping make these green beans a flavorful alternative to plain steamed vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1 pound green beans trimmed
