Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings

Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings feature chicken wings coated in olive oil, lemon pepper seasoning, and salt before baking. After initial cooking, a garlic butter mixture with lemon zest and sugar-free honey is brushed on and the wings are caramelized under higher heat. This method creates wings with a balance of tangy lemon and savory garlic flavors along with crispy edges and tender meat inside. The recipe suggests storing leftovers in the refrigerator or freezer.

Description

This Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings recipe begins by coating dry chicken wings in olive oil, lemon pepper seasoning, and salt to evenly distribute the seasoning. Baking them at 400°F for 40 minutes cooks the wings almost through while rendering fat and crisping skin. A garlic butter glaze made with melted butter, grated garlic, lemon zest, and sugar-free honey is then brushed over the wings, adding moisture and sweet acidity.

Raising the oven temperature to 425°F for an additional 5 to 7 minutes caramelizes the glaze, enhancing flavor and texture with slightly crisped, sticky coating. The wings balance the bright citrus notes from lemon zest and pepper seasoning with aromatic garlic and a touch of honey sweetness.

Leftover wings can be refrigerated and stored in airtight containers for 3 to 4 days or frozen for longer keeping, making this recipe practical and flexible for meals or snacks.
