Lemon Pepper Shrimp
Description
The recipe for Lemon Pepper Shrimp starts by preparing the shrimp with a coating of flour mixed with white and black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. These ingredients create a savory crust when cooked. Searing in a mix of butter and olive oil over medium-high heat crisps the shrimp without overcooking. The addition of lemon zest and lemon juice toward the end imparts a fresh citrus brightness that complements the peppery seasoning. Garnishing with lemon slices and parsley adds color and enhances the fresh profile.
The shrimp cook quickly, about two minutes per side, ensuring they remain juicy inside with a nicely browned exterior. The recipe suggests cooking in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding the pan, which helps achieve a good sear. The blend of seasonings provides a mellow but distinct flavor, mildly spicy from the peppers and aromatic from the garlic and onion powders.
This dish can be served alone, as a protein topping for salads or pasta, or alongside rice and steamed vegetables. The lemon and pepper seasoning make it versatile for various meal contexts without additional sauces.
