Lemon Pepper Wings
Description
This recipe prepares chicken wings seasoned with lemon pepper seasoning, fresh lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. For oven baking, the wings are first coated in a mix of flour and baking powder to contribute to crispiness before being baked on a rack inside a foil-lined pan. Cooking involves flipping the wings mid-way and optional broiling to achieve golden brown crispiness.
After baking, the wings are tossed in a mixture of melted butter and fresh lemon juice, which adds moisture and bright citrus flavor. Parsley garnish offers a fresh appearance and subtle herbal flavor. The cooking method emphasizes crisp skin alongside tender meat.
These wings make for a flavorful snack or appetizer and can be served immediately for best texture. Adjusting the amount of lemon pepper seasoning can balance saltiness according to the brand used.
Alternatively, air frying is an option without flour and baking powder coating, with a similar cooking time and crisp results. Preheating the air fryer and arranging wings in a single layer promotes even cooking. The recipe notes highlight tasting the lemon pepper seasoning first due to some brands being quite salty.
