Lightened up Creamy Balsamic Dressing

This lightened creamy balsamic dressing blends light mayonnaise, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup with olive oil, salt, and pepper for balanced acidity and sweetness. It emulsifies into a smooth, pourable sauce ideal for salads that benefit from a mild yet tangy touch.

Description

The Lightened up Creamy Balsamic Dressing uses light mayonnaise to provide creaminess while reducing fat content compared to traditional versions. Balsamic vinegar lends a rich tang that complements the natural sweetness from pure maple syrup. Olive oil adds a subtle fruitiness and smooth texture.

Combining these ingredients creates a velvety dressing that coats greens well without overpowering them. Salt and freshly cracked black pepper season it to taste, enhancing its overall flavor profile.

The dressing works well with salads including goat cheese and cranberries or those with pecan crusted chicken and sweet potatoes. It also complements spinach, berry salads, and fruit-laden greens due to its balanced sweetness and acidity.

This dressing stores well in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in a sealed container. If separation occurs, shaking the container will easily reemulsify the ingredients. Vegan versions can be made using vegan mayonnaise.
