Lime Drop Martini
Description
The cocktail begins by preparing a sugared rim made from cane sugar combined with lime zest, which coats a glass rim wetted with lime wedge. This adds sweetness and citrus aroma to each sip. The glass is chilled in the freezer while the drink is mixed.
A mint-flavored simple syrup is created by muddling fresh mint leaves and lime wedges with fresh lime juice and store-bought simple syrup, producing a subtly herbal and tangy syrup that enhances the cocktail’s freshness.
In a shaker filled with crushed ice, vodka and orange liqueur are combined, then strained simple syrup is added and shaken thoroughly for about 40 seconds. The chilled glass is filled with the mixture and optionally garnished with a lime twist for added aroma and appeal.
This martini balances the tartness of lime with the sweetness of orange liqueur and the cool herbaceous note from mint syrup, making it suitable as a refreshing drink for social occasions.
