The Mai Tai is a cocktail from the Tiki culture in Polynesia, which is prepared with rum, curaçao, orgeat, and freshly squeezed lime juice.

Ingredients
- 1 oz. white rum
- 1 oz. dark rum
- 1 oz. lime juice , freshly squeezed
- ½ oz. curaçao liqueur , orange liqueur
- ½ oz. orgeat syrup
- ice or small ice cubes, crushed
- mint to garnish, leaves
- lime to garnish, slice
Equipment
- shaker
- Citrus squeezer
- Old Fashioned Glass
Instructions
- Pour the ingredients into the shaker.
- Cover with ice cubes and shake for 15 seconds.
- Pour the entire content of the shaker into the glass, including the ice cubes.
- Garnish with a slice of lime and mint leaves (to symbolize a desert island and its palm tree).
- Stick a straw cut in half in it and serve immediately.
