Mango Margarita
Description
This Mango Margarita recipe uses ripe frozen mango chunks blended with lime juice, silver tequila, and Cointreau liqueur to create a fruity and tangy cocktail. The ingredients are blended until smooth, with ice added to reach the desired frozen consistency. Rimming the glass with salt enhances the drink’s brightness and balances the sweetness.
The resulting cocktail is cold and slushy with a creamy mango texture and a pronounced citrus aroma from the lime. It’s a delightful variation on the classic margarita that emphasizes fresh tropical flavors.
For presentation, garnish with fresh lime slices. The recipe suggests preparing mango cubes in advance by freezing for convenience.
Ingredients
- 3 cups Mango from about 4 small mangos, cubed, frozen
- ¼ cup lime juice plus lime slices for garnish, fresh
- 3 ounces tequila silver
- 2 ounces Cointreau
- 3 handfuls ice cubes
- salt for the glass rims, optional, sea salt
Instructions
- Place the mango, lime juice, tequila, and Cointreau in a blender and blend until smooth. Add the ice and blend to the desired consistency. If the mixture is too thick to blend, let it sit and melt for a few minutes.
- If desired, use a lime wedge to moisten the rims of the glasses and then dip the rims in a small plate of salt.
- Pour the mango mixture into the glasses and garnish with lime slices.
Notes
- Use the recommended mango cutting method to maximize usable fruit and minimize mess.
