Maple Balsamic Brussels Sprouts
Description
Maple Balsamic Brussels Sprouts start with halved Brussels sprouts tossed in olive oil and a blend of garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Roasting at a high temperature allows the sprouts to develop golden brown, caramelized surfaces while remaining tender inside. After roasting, the vegetables are coated with a mixture of maple syrup and balsamic vinegar, which provides a sweet and tangy glaze that complements the sprouts' natural bitterness.
Flakes of salt can be sprinkled over the finished dish to add a subtle crunch and enhance flavor. The roasting technique helps to mellow the Brussels sprouts, producing a pleasant texture contrast between crisp edges and softness. This dish offers a sophisticated balance of savory, sweet, and acidic notes.
Maple Balsamic Brussels Sprouts work well as a warm side dish accompanying roasted meats or vegetarian meals, adding a touch of sweetness and complexity to the plate. The glaze elevates the presentation and flavor profile above simple roasted vegetables.
