Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ⅔ cup light brown sugar packed
- 2 teaspoons maple flavoring
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 lb Fisher Nuts Pecan Halves
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 225°F. Line a 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat egg whites until frothy, for about a minute using a whisk. Add in sugars, maple flavoring, cinnamon and salt. Mix again until well combined.
- Fold in pecans, mixing until completely coated.
- Pour pecans onto prepared baking sheet. Bake for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool completely. Store in an airtight container (or gallon sized ziploc bag), for about 1-2 weeks. ENJOY!
Notes
- Beat the egg whites until they look frothy. You can use a hand whisk for this, it doesn’t take long. Then add the rest of the ingredients right to the egg whites.
- Bake the nuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Turn the pecans every 15 minutes as they bake. This helps the nuts cook evenly without overbrowning.
- They will be HOT when you remove them from the oven. Let the pecans cool completely (at least 30 minutes) before eating.
