Maple Dijon Glazed Boneless Spiral Ham
Description
This recipe features a fully cooked boneless spiral ham of about 4 to 7 pounds, baked initially covered at 350°F to heat through without drying. The glaze combines packed brown sugar, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, and a hint of allspice, simmered until slightly bubbling. Half the glaze is spooned over the ham before the main baking phase, and the remainder is applied for the final 15 minutes uncovered, allowing the sugars to caramelize and create a sticky, flavorful crust.
The method results in a warm, moist ham with a sweet and tangy glaze highlighted by the sharpness of mustard and warm allspice notes. This ham can be sliced for gatherings, making it a centerpiece for festive occasions.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. If frozen, thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating. Keeping the ham covered most of the cooking time retains moisture and ensures even heat penetration.
