Maple Glazed Chicken Wings Recipe
Description
The Maple Glazed Chicken Wings Recipe involves coating wings in a flavorful marinade made from melted butter, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, Sriracha, cumin, and red pepper flakes. The chicken is tossed in half the glaze and baked at 400ºF until the skin crisps and the wings cook through, about 40-45 minutes. Additional glaze is brushed on before a final bake to create a shiny, sticky finish.
The final wings offer a balance of sweet maple syrup, tangy mustard, and umami from soy sauce, with a subtle heat from Sriracha and spices. The crispy baked skin contrasts the tender meat inside, making them flavorful and satisfying.
These wings can be served warm as an appetizer or main dish. For a Paleo variation, substitute ghee or grass-fed butter, use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce, and ensure the maple syrup is organic.
Ingredients
- 6 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons butter melted
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper ground
- 1/4 /4 cup maple syrup
- 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or coconut aminos, low-sodium
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 2 teaspoons Sriracha sauce
- 1/2 /2 teaspoon cumin ground
- pinch red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400º F. Line baking sheet pan with aluminum foil, set aside. Place chicken wings into a large glass bowl.
- Mix together melted butter, salt, pepper, maple syrup, mustard, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, Sriracha sauce, ground cumin, and red pepper flakes until well-combined. Pour half over chicken wings and toss until well-coated. Place chicken wings onto lined baking sheet and bake until chicken wings are baked through and the skin is crispy, about 40-45 minutes. Brush with additional sauce and return to oven until the sauce is glossy, about 5-8 minutes.
- Remove from oven and serve warm.
Notes
- To make Paleo-friendly, use grass-fed butter or ghee instead of regular butter.
- Substitute soy sauce with coconut aminos for a lower sodium option.
- Choose organic grade B maple syrup for natural sweetness and flavor.
- Brush on extra glaze near the end of cooking to develop a glossy finish.
