Maple Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Maple Roasted Sweet Potatoes are tender cubes coated in a blend of maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and olive oil, then roasted until edges caramelize lightly. This combination creates a sweet, warming flavor with a soft interior and slightly crisp outsides. Salt seasoning balances the sweetness, making these an excellent side dish a comforting meal.

Description

The recipe uses large sweet potatoes peeled and cut into 3/4 inch cubes, ensuring even roasting and tender texture inside. The coating of maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and olive oil evenly dresses the potatoes, infusing them with sweet and warm spice notes. Roasting at 400°F allows the sugars to caramelize slightly on the edges while keeping the centers soft.

These sweet potatoes pair well with a variety of mains or can be enjoyed on their own as a side dish. The balance of sweetness and seasoning lends well to autumn or winter meals. You can adjust the level of salt to enhance the flavors to your preference.

If you use red or orange sweet potatoes, they tend to be sweeter and less fibrous, improving texture. Leaving the skin on is an option based on preference and can add nutrients and texture. Cutting pieces uniformly ensures even cooking. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for about three days.
