Marinara Meatballs Recipe
Description
This recipe starts with pre-cooked meatballs placed in a baking dish, covered by marinara sauce to keep them moist and flavorful during baking. Mozzarella cheese is sprinkled over the top and melts as the dish bakes, forming a gooey, golden topping. Fresh basil adds herbal brightness but is optional.
The dish is baked covered at 350°F to heat through and blend flavors, then uncovered briefly for the cheese to brown lightly. The resulting casserole has saucy, cheesy meatballs with a soft texture inside and a melted cheese top.
This preparation works well as a main dish served alongside salad, pasta, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce. The combination is a comforting and familiar Italian-American style meal.
