Marinated Olives

Report
Marinated Olives combine green and kalamata olives with marinated garlic, fresh cilantro, red chili pepper, lime juice, and extra virgin olive oil. This mix creates a flavorful, slightly spicy and citrusy appetizer or snack, enhanced by marinating in the refrigerator. The olives absorb the bright and savory seasonings, making them more complex and enjoyable over time.

Description

This recipe for Marinated Olives uses a combination of pitted green and kalamata olives mixed with marinated garlic, providing a robust base of flavor. Freshly chopped cilantro adds herbal brightness, while a small amount of red chili pepper introduces gentle heat. Extra virgin olive oil and lime juice contribute richness and acidity, balancing the flavors. By refrigerating the olives after mixing, the ingredients meld, allowing the citrus and spices to penetrate the olives for a more nuanced taste.

The olives can be served as an appetizer or part of a spread and make a convenient, flavorful snack. The use of pitted olives ensures ease of eating, and the fresh herbs and chili bring complexity to this simple preparation.

This marinate can be adjusted by adding skinned almonds to increase volume and provide additional texture. Choosing high-quality olive oil is important as its flavor impacts the final result. Marinated olives also make thoughtful gifts when jarred attractively.
