Maryland Crab Dip

Maryland Crab Dip combines softened cream cheese with mayonnaise, sour cream, and distinctive seasonings including Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and white pepper. Sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses add richness and melt well, complementing the tender crab meat folded in gently. This creamy, slightly spicy dip is baked until hot and bubbly, perfect for serving warm with crackers, bread, or fresh vegetables.

Description

This Maryland Crab Dip recipe starts with a base of softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream creamed together to create a smooth texture. It is flavored with Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, Old Bay seasoning—a classic blend often used with seafood—and ground white pepper. Sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses are mixed in, providing sharpness and creaminess that meld well during baking.

Gently folding in the crab meat keeps lumps intact, maintaining texture and a fresh seafood presence. The mixture is spread in a shallow baking dish, topped with reserved cheese, and baked uncovered until heated through and the cheese is melted. The result is a savory dip with a balance of creamy, spicy, and briny flavors, served warm alongside crackers, bread slices, or cut vegetables such as celery and carrots.
