Mashed Potatoes
Description
To make Mashed Potatoes, potatoes are peeled, cut into uniform pieces, and boiled in salted water until fork tender. After draining, they are returned to the hot pot and mashed together with salted butter, cream cheese, and whole milk. The cream cheese adds softness and a tangy note, enhancing traditional mashed potatoes. Salt and pepper are adjusted for flavor balance.
The mashing technique and inclusion of dairy create a moist, creamy consistency that holds well for serving warm. This side pairs naturally with gravies or roasted meats, adding richness and a mellow potato taste to the meal.
