Meatball Crescent Rolls Recipe
Description
This recipe uses store-bought crescent roll dough as a tender, flaky wrapper around frozen meatballs and mozzarella cheese strips. The dough triangles are halved to create smaller pockets, each filled with cheese before placing a meatball on top. A brush of marinara sauce adds moisture and flavor inside the rolls. Once rolled, the dough-wrapped meatballs are brushed with melted butter and sprinkled with garlic powder, parsley, and Parmesan for a seasoned, golden crust after baking.
Baked at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, these crescent rolls develop a crisp, buttery exterior while heating the meatballs thoroughly. The mozzarella melts into a creamy layer that binds each roll together. These handheld rolls are convenient as snacks, appetizers, or casual meals that are easy to prepare using frozen meatballs and store-bought dough.
The recipe works best in a conventional oven rather than an air fryer, which may cook the dough faster than the meatballs can heat through. Varieties of cheese or homemade marinara and meatballs can be used to tailor the taste.
Ingredients
- 1 package crescent roll dough 8-ounce
- 16 meatballs frozen
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 4 lices mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon parsley
- 1/2 tablespoon Parmesan Cheese grated
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the triangles. Cut each triangle in half to form two smaller triangles.
- Cut each cheese slice into four strips and place one on each crescent roll triangle.
- Place the meatball on top of the cheese and brush with marinara sauce.
- Roll the dough around the meatball and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the dough with melted butter and sprinkle the top with garlic powder, parsley, and parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, until the meatball bites are golden brown.
Notes
- Any cheese variety can be substituted according to preference.
- Homemade marinara sauce or meatballs can replace store-bought ingredients for personalization.
- Oven baking ensures even cooking; air frying may lead to undercooked meatballs and overdone dough.
