Meatloaf Recipe (How to make Meatloaf)
Description
The Meatloaf Recipe starts by sautéing diced onion until translucent, then mixing it with ground beef, Italian sausage, beaten egg, milk, Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. The mixture is formed into a loaf shape inside a greased loaf pan.
A topping made from brown sugar, yellow mustard, and ketchup is whisked together and spread evenly over the meatloaf before baking. The meatloaf is baked at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes until fully cooked.
This results in a tender, flavorful meatloaf with a sticky, tangy, and sweet glaze. It can be sliced and served warm as a hearty entrée. Leftovers can be stored refrigerated or frozen and reheated.
Allowing the meatloaf to rest several minutes before slicing helps it hold together. Alternatively, if a loaf pan is not available, shaping on a baking sheet is possible with an adjusted cooking time. Using a meat thermometer, the internal temperature should reach 160°F for doneness.
