Mexican Pork Chops

Mexican Pork Chops marinate in a flavorful blend of neutral oil, onion, chili powder, garlic, cumin, oregano, and coriander. After marinating for several hours, the pork chops are pan-seared until cooked through, resulting in tender, spiced meat with a subtly smoky and herby taste. The simple marinade infuses the pork with layered flavors, making this a practical main dish for a meal.

Description

This recipe for Mexican Pork Chops uses a marinade composed of neutral cooking oil, sliced onion, chili powder, minced garlic, cumin, oregano, and coriander. The pork chops soak in this mixture for 4 to 24 hours, or can be frozen until used, allowing the spices and aromatics to deeply flavor the meat. Cooking involves pan-searing the chops over medium heat in oil, about four minutes per side, until the internal temperature reaches around 150ºF indicating they are fully cooked. The result is pork chops with a balanced blend of warm spices from chili powder and cumin complemented by herbaceous notes from oregano and coriander. This straightforward method produces tender chops ready to serve.
