Mint Julep Recipe
Description
This Mint Julep Recipe starts by muddling torn fresh mint leaves with simple syrup directly in the serving glass, releasing the mint’s aroma and flavor into the syrup. Adding a generous amount of crushed ice chills the drink thoroughly before a splash of cold water and bourbon are poured in, mellowing and diluting the mixture to a balanced finish. The mint sprig garnish adds visual appeal and reinforces the herbal scent as you sip. Simple syrup made from water and granulated sugar can be prepared in advance and stored refrigerated for up to two weeks, making subsequent juleps quick to assemble.
