Mint Peas
Description
Mint Peas are made by boiling frozen peas in water until tender, then draining them. Separately, softened unsalted butter is mixed with finely chopped fresh mint and lemon zest to create a vibrant flavored butter. The warm peas are combined with this mint-lemon butter, coating them evenly and allowing the flavors to meld. The result is a dish that balances the natural sweetness of the peas with the cool herbal notes of mint and the brightness of lemon. The peas retain their tenderness and are served hot.
This side dish complements a variety of main courses, particularly those needing a fresh contrast to richer flavors. Its uncomplicated preparation suits everyday meals or simple dinner parties.
