M&M Cookies

M&M Cookies combine a rich butter and brown sugar dough with M&Ms and semi-sweet chocolate chips for chewy, colorful cookies. The dough chills before baking to improve texture, then is portioned into balls and baked until edges are set with a tender center and studded chocolate.

Description

This cookie recipe starts by creaming unsalted butter with brown and white sugars until light and fluffy, which creates a base for soft texture. Eggs are added one at a time for structure, followed by vanilla for flavor. Dry ingredients including flour, baking soda, and salt are mixed in gently to maintain tenderness.

The dough is folded with M&Ms and semi-sweet chocolate chips to add bursts of chocolate and colorful visuals inside the baked cookies. Refrigerating the dough for an hour solidifies fats, which helps control spreading and results in thicker cookies with a good chew.

Using a small scoop to portion dough balls ensures uniform cookie size. They bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers remain soft. Cooling lets them finish setting with a tender crumb and melty chocolate.

Clickable times in instructions suggest interactive kitchen timing as a convenience for the cook.
