M&M Cookies (Soft & Chewy)

M&M Cookies (Soft & Chewy) are classic cookies combining butter, sugars, and vanilla to create a tender dough studded with colorful M&M candies. The dough is gently mixed to preserve softness, baked until just set to retain chewiness, making a brightly sweet treat with a tender crumb and melty candy centers.

Description

This recipe calls for room temperature unsalted butter creamed with granulated and brown sugars, which helps build a moist texture and mild caramel notes. The addition of egg and vanilla extract provides binding and flavor. Dry ingredients include flour, baking powder, and baking soda, ensuring proper rise and softness. Half the M&M's are folded into the dough, while the rest are added on top before baking to showcase their colors.

Baking at 350°F for 7 to 11 minutes, depending on cookie size, allows the edges to set while keeping centers soft. Removing cookies when still slightly soft ensures they finish baking out of the oven without drying. The result is a chewy cookie with colorful candy pieces that add texture and sweetness.

These cookies are suitable for snacking or sharing and maintain softness when stored properly.
