  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Lightly grease an 8x4-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup banana puree, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup melted butter, 1 large egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth and creamy, about 60-90 seconds.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined.
  4. Stir in 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour until just combined. If using nuts or chocolate chips, fold them in gently at this stage.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
