Mozzarella Puffs
Description
This recipe makes savory Mozzarella Puffs using buttermilk biscuit dough filled with mozzarella cheese cubes. Each biscuit is indented, sprinkled with oregano and garlic salt, then stuffed with a mozzarella cube. Careful sealing of the dough around the cheese prevents leaks during baking. The puffs are placed seam side down on a baking sheet and brushed with pizza sauce for added flavor before baking at 375 degrees until golden and cooked through.
The cheese melts inside to create a chewy, creamy center, while the biscuit exterior bakes to a light, tender, and slightly crisp texture. The inclusion of oregano and garlic salt enhances the flavor with herbal and savory notes that complement the mozzarella and pizza sauce topping.
These puffs are convenient for serving as finger food or a simple snack and can be customized with different cheeses or herbs as desired. The recipe provides a straightforward approach for a cheesy biscuit treat combining traditional baking techniques with flavorful fillings.
