Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs

These tasty Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs have a creamy surprise inside and are delicious served over spaghetti.

Ingredients

  • 1 lice white bread
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 lbs ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup onion finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano dried
  • 2 tablespoons parsley chopped, fresh
  • 24 /2 inch mozzarella cheese cubed
  • 1 jar marinara sauce warmed
  • 1/3-1/2 pound spaghetti cooked to al dente

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat and set aside.
  2. Tear slice of white bread into small pieces and place into a large bowl. Pour milk over top of the bread and let it soak while you chop the onions and garlic.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients {excluding the cheese} into the bowl and mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  4. Scoop the meat mixture by the tablespoon into your hand and place a cube of cheese in the middle. Press the meat all around the cheese to cover completely and roll into a ball.
  5. Place on prepared baking sheet and continue stuffing the meatballs with cheese until you have 24. Bake for 20-23 minutes or until meat is thoroughly cooked. Serve with marinara and spaghetti.
