Nam Sod Lettuce Wraps

Nam Sod Lettuce Wraps feature ground pork cooked with garlic, ginger, and fresh mint, seasoned with soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, and red pepper for a lively, savory filling. Served in crisp butter lettuce leaves, the wraps are topped with shredded carrots, red onion, scallions, cilantro, roasted peanuts, and optional red bell pepper slices, adding varied textures and fresh flavors. This combination delivers a balance of savory, tangy, and mildly spicy elements, suitable for a witty, handheld dish.

Description

To make Nam Sod Lettuce Wraps, ground pork is sautéed with minced garlic and grated ginger until browned and crumbly. Fresh mint is stirred in along with soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, and crushed red pepper, allowing the meat mixture to absorb vibrant and tangy Southeast Asian-inspired flavors. The filling is cooked until the liquids are fully absorbed, creating a flavorful, moist, but not wet filling.

The wraps are assembled by spooning the seasoned pork mixture into crisp butter lettuce leaves, which serve as a fresh, crunchy vessel. They are garnished with shredded carrots, thinly sliced red onions, chopped scallions, cilantro, dry roasted peanuts, and optionally, sliced red bell peppers for color and mild sweetness. These toppings contribute different textures and brighten each bite.

Besides serving as wraps, the ingredients can be layered as a salad, placing lettuce in serving bowls and topping with pork and garnish. This flexible recipe is suitable for light lunches or appetizers where hand-held ease and bold flavors are desired.
