Naturally Sweetened Crunchy Granola

This Naturally Sweetened Crunchy Granola blends rolled oats, nuts, sunflower seeds, and wheat germ, sweetened with a mixture of apple juice and maple syrup, and spiced with cinnamon and apple pie spice. Baking at a moderate temperature while stirring develops an even crispness. Dried fruit is added after baking to maintain chewiness. The result is a crunchy, sweet, flavorful granola mix ideal for snacking or breakfast.

Description

The granola recipe combines oats, walnuts, sunflower seeds, and wheat germ for a hearty base. A warm mixture of apple juice, coconut oil, maple syrup, and spices coats the dry ingredients, contributing natural sweetness and flavor without refined sugar. Baking in a single layer at 325°F with periodic stirring ensures uniform toasting and crunch.

After baking and cooling, dried fruit is mixed in to add chewy texture and fruity notes that contrast with the crunchy granola. The natural cinnamon and apple pie spice provide warm, comforting flavors that complement the sweetness of maple and apple juice.

This granola is versatile as a snack or breakfast topping, providing a balance of crunchy nuts and oats with chewy dried fruit. Storing it in an airtight container preserves freshness for up to a week.
