  • 3 egg cold
  • 1 tablespoon butter cold
  • 2 tablespoon heavy cream you can also use water, milk, stock, or creme fraiche in place of the heavy cream
  • cup cheddar cheese use less if preferred, shredded
  • salt (or more to taste)
  • pinch black pepper (or more to taste)

Instructions

  1. Coat a cake pan or an oven-safe bowl with butter. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese. Using your fingers, break the remaining butter into smaller pieces and stir them into the mixture.
  2. Pour the egg mixture into the buttered pan and carefully place it in your air fryer basket or trivet. Air fry at 350°F (approximately 180°C) for 8 minutes. Once the cooking time is over, use a spatula to carefully stir the eggs, so that the raw egg comes on top. Close the lid and air fry for a further two minutes, then remove and transfer to a plate and serve (see notes below).

Notes

  • If using air fryer models other than Ninja Foodi, continue to cook and stir in two-minute intervals until eggs are fully cooked and no longer runny.
  • Suggested toppings include crumbled feta, parmesan cheese, or fresh herbs such as dill, chives, oregano, or thyme for added flavor.
  • To add protein or vegetables, mix in cooked sausage, bacon, sliced mushrooms, bell peppers, or spinach before cooking.
