Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup ketchup no sugar added
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons tamari soy sauce or soy sauce if not avoiding gluten, low sodium
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a small mixing bowl and whisk well to thoroughly combine.
  2. Transfer the BBQ sauce to a CLEAN jar or container.

Notes

  • If you do not have or cannot find ketchup without added sugar, reduce the maple syrup.
  • Adjust to your taste! If you prefer spicier BBQ sauce, double up on the hot sauce. For no heat, omit it.
  • For an extra smoky flavour, add a teaspoon of liquid smoke or double up on the smoked paprika.
  • Keep the sauce in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks in a sealed jar or container. Or freeze airtight for up to 3 months.
  • This vegan BBQ sauce recipe makes approx. 1.5 cups in total, for 12 servings of 2 tablespoons each.
  • The nutritional information represents 1 serving of approx. 2 tablespoons.
