Oatmeal Pancakes with Chocolate Chips

Oatmeal Pancakes with Chocolate Chips mix ground old fashioned oats and whole wheat flour into a thick batter punctuated by miniature chocolate chips. This pancake variation combines hearty texture from oats with sweet bursts from chocolate, creating fluffy and tender pancakes with a lightly nutty flavor. They make a filling breakfast or brunch option.

Description

This recipe starts by pulsing oats with whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt to create a fine oat-flour mix. Egg whites, milk, and vegetable oil are added to form a batter that rests briefly before cooking on a hot griddle. Miniature chocolate chips stirred in add a touch of sweetness in pockets throughout.

The pancakes cook until bubbles form and edges brown, then flip to cook the other side, yielding a tender interior and lightly crisp edges. The oat base provides a chewy texture, complemented by the melting chocolate chips.

Serve the pancakes warm with syrup or fresh fruit for breakfast. Adjust the flour quantity slightly for thinner or thicker pancakes, and increase chocolate chips for added sweetness according to preference.

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
