Description
Olive Garden Stuffed Mushrooms begin with cleaning large mushroom caps and removing stems. The filling blends minced clams with finely chopped green onion, garlic, Italian bread crumbs, beaten egg, oregano, and Parmesan cheese, all bound together with melted butter. Each mushroom is generously stuffed and drizzled with additional melted butter before being baked covered until tender. They are then topped with grated mozzarella and baked uncovered briefly to melt the cheese. The result is a rich and slightly briny filling complementing the earthy mushroom base.
The mushrooms can be served warm as an appetizer or party snack. The butter and cheese add indulgence while the clam mixture provides a pleasant taste contrast. Leftovers keep refrigerated and reheat well in oven or air fryer, preserving their texture.
Ingredients
- 12 mushroom large, fresh
- 3 Tbsp butter melted
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese finely grated
For the Filling:
- 1 minced clams 6 oz drained, canned
- 1 green onion finely chopped
- 1 egg beaten, large
- 2 tsp garlic minced
- 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
- 1 tsp oregano dried
- 1 Tbsp butter melted
- 3 Tbsp Parmesan Cheese grated
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray a baking dish large enough to hold the mushrooms with a non-stick cooking spray.
- Remove the stems off the mushrooms and clean the mushrooms with a dry paper towel (due not use water or it will make the mushrooms soggy).
- Stir together all the filling ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Add 1-2 spoons of the filling into each mushroom cap and place it filling side up on the baking dish (you should be able to stuff 8-12 mushrooms based on the size of your mushrooms).
- Then drizzle 3 Tbsp of melted butter over the prepared mushrooms.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20-30 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
- Remove the foil and sprinkle the top of each mushroom with the grated mozzarella cheese. Bake (uncovered) for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Then the mushrooms are ready to serve and enjoy!
Notes
- For best texture, clean mushrooms with a dry paper towel instead of water to avoid sogginess.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or air fryer to regain crispness.
- Depending on mushroom size, 8 to 12 stuffed mushrooms can be prepared per batch.
