One Pot Creamy Sausage Gnocchi
Description
One Pot Creamy Sausage Gnocchi features Italian sausage cooked with diced onions and garlic, followed by deglazing with white wine and Italian seasoning. Adding canned diced tomatoes, heavy cream, and potato gnocchi creates a creamy, hearty sauce that thickens as it simmers. The gnocchi absorb the flavors, resulting in a tender bite that complements the savory sausage and slightly tangy tomato base. This combination balances richness and acidity while maintaining soft textures throughout.
The dish benefits from a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese before serving, enhancing the depth of flavor with its salty, nutty notes. Cooking the gnocchi in the sauce mixture eliminates the need for multiple pots while ensuring the pasta infuses with the sauce.
Serve this gnocchi dish on its own for a filling dinner or with a simple green salad to complement the creamy and meaty flavors. The recipe yields a comforting, creamy entree with a balanced profile of Italian herbs, sausage, and cheese.
Mild or hot Italian sausage can be substituted based on preference, and using canned diced tomatoes with added garlic or onion can slightly alter the flavor but remain suitable. Heavy cream, sometimes labeled as whipping cream, enriches the sauce. Nutritional values are estimates provided for guidance.
